Laurie’s Life Story on KCRG TV
July 27, 2009
For those who weren’t aware or for those who live outside of Cedar Rapids, KCRG did an excellent life story piece on Laurie last night and I heard it was aired again this morning.
We are lucky to have the technology and KCRG has placed the story here:

Saturday Update on Laurieloo
July 25, 2009
Hello EVERYONE,
Thank you all so much for all the prayers and food for my Dad and JR. I was here at the hospitall all day yesterday. The doctors came in and wanted to do the procedure on her left lung. I would like to impress you all with all kinds of medical terminology but then I would have to look up spelling. So the long and short of it … there is fluid around her left lung so yesterday they inserted a tube to drain the fluid off. So the lung can inflate. Yes, Laurie would tell you it is all VERY painful. Rough night and morning is an understatement I see it in her eyes. Must take the bad to get to the good. I feel like I keep telling her just get through today. Just get through today Laurieloo. Today is the day!
Laurie says,” love you all muchly”! Hugging you all!!
Love, Jules

It is Thursday night and I am back with Laurie!!! That makes me happy. Laurie has had a procedure done to help with her left lung. I will spare you the details not so much fun. Hopefully that continues to make progress. We will work on deep breathing again and still. They also inserted a smaller tube in her trach. This is a good thing. Her spirits are up from last weekend. Her head injuries look so much better. She tells me it is still tender and will not let me rub my hand over her new hair growth. I will wait longer before I do that. More later I promise. Remember to hug your loved ones.
love, Jules

To all my Laurians!
Laurie had a rough day yesterday. Lots of head pain from the surgery. I don’t think even the family felt like we were able to comfort her much. She told me to leave once, of course I held my ground and stayed until I knew her pain was being managed. Pain meds have been adjusted and by the time I left last night she was more calm and relaxed. I got a little smile from her and a kiss.
I will again ask that you all please keep the prayers and positive thoughts coming. I know this is hard for all of us. We all just want to make it better and be there for her. Know that the prayers and wishes do make it better every minute, every hour, every day!!! She reads her cards and I know they lift her spirits. I see it in her face. Thank you everyone so much for all the kindness and love. Hug your loved ones!!!
Peace be with you all!!
love,
Jules
Laurie’s Surgery
July 17, 2009
Just received a phone call that Laurie’s surgery this morning went well. Some of us who attended the monthly Parrothead meeting last night, found out that Laurie did need to go in for a short surgery this morning to help relieve some of the pressure and swelling in her head. Her father called to say that everything went well and she was resting.
Thanks again for the continued support and prayers.
Daily Inspiration
July 14, 2009
InnerSelf.com – Daily Inspiration:
The first priority in life is to be true to the creative principle within yourself — to recognize that you have the gift of life and to be a caretaker of that gift.
Second is the responsibility to your parents, your family, and your friends — to see the best within them. To call forth the best within others, to understand your special purpose and reason for life, and not to give away what you know until you are certain it will grow — that is important.
If we sense fear in ourselves about meeting our divine qualities and the power of our being, the creative force, we want to take that script and burn it and write a new one, a script that says, “I will be all that I am to be and will manifest all of my gifts.”
Take care everyone! - jules
A message from Ms Laurieloo
July 13, 2009
Hello again everyone. I received a piece of notebook paper today with a heartfelt message in green marker from Laurie herself. She has requested that this be posted to her site…..so here it is, word for word……
‘Yes, I am a wealthy person to have the friends I do. You could continue to say that it’s difficult to talk. I am balancing healing in several injury areas. I just need rest in there somewhere. Tell them: Thanks-I appreciate it all. Visitation limitation mode continues at this time. Hell for all we know I could be moved again. When I am ready, I will let someone know. Heartfelt thanks for the continued support & prayer. ‘
So, Laurie has made her first post to her own website. :-) Let’s continue the support and prayers as she requested. I have heard of a few benefits that are in the works. If someone would like to email Bob or myself directly with details, we’ll be glad to post those.
Everyone- take care of each other …always…..
