Not sure where to begin… Thank you all from the bottom of our hearts and souls! Everyone and everything was so perfectly wonderful. All the love and support brought tears to us all. Laurie was so tired but I know she wanted to go so bad. She has lots of work to do in the following weeks. Her schedule is very busy. Please continue to keep her in your prayers as she continues to do her work. The picture of you all standing and cheering echos! That image is forever etched on our hearts!!!!! Team Laurie you all rock! In the words of Mr. Jack Johnson… “We’re Better Together.”

Reminder: The first fundraiser/benefit for Laurie will be today Saturday August 15th at Papa’s Sports Bar in Hiawatha.

No guarantees but read on!
I know many of you have wondered how/when you can see Laurie at the hospital.
As you know it’s been tough with Laurie switching rooms and hospitals and frankly she hasn’t felt up to seeing people physically but emotionally she wants to see everyone!
So here’s an update from Keith Wright last night:

I spoke with Jim this afternoon and it looks like we have a 90% chance that Laurieloo will be at the golf outing on the 22nd for a little while.
If things continue to move forward she will probably take her first trip outside the hospital this weekend for the fund raiser at Papa’s Sports Bar this Saturday.
Imagine fresh air for the first time in 8 weeks.

This will be a great way for everyone to see Laurie and wish her well!

Our Girl is Back in Town

All-
Just a quick update from Laurie herself. Head and lung injuries are healing very well. She had her trach removed on Thursday and is able to talk more freely now. She is at St. Lukes in Cedar Rapids, BUT, she has asked that people give her some time to get into her routines with physical therapy and such, before any visits start. She is as anxious to see everyone, as we are her, but she needs some time & space to adjust. Stay tuned for more updates.

Pampered Chef benefit for Laurie

Carlotta Antonelli from Pampered Chef is going to set up a stand at the benefit on Aug. 15th, to help raise money for Laurie.
20% of all sales will be donated to Laurie’s fund. Laurie will also receive an additional $5 for any party bookings made. Anyone who purchases $60 or more will receive a free cookbook (value $15)
